Welcome back to Snap of the Week! Missed week one? Find it here.
We spent the weekend celebrating my birthday in Hobart. It was a great weekend and it will be splashed across the blog very soon.
One of the best parts of the weekend was the journey home. We stopped in the small town of New Norfolk to stock up on supplies before heading back into the wilderness for the next couple of weeks. New Norfolk is the last chance to scramble together some beer and snacks so is a common stop-off whenever we visit Hobart.
From these frequent stops, we thought we knew the town well enough – that was until today. Not ready to give up the weekend just yet, we decided to explore a rejuvenated area of the town, Willow Court.
Formerly a Military Hospital and Asylum, Willow Court has now been transformed into a massive antiques centre, with the beautiful Patchwork café located on the grounds. We sipped wine and listened to the live band at the café and then rummaged through the mountains of antiques spread around the grounds.
My particular favourite find were these battered suitcases. I love old suitcases, just thinking about where they’ve been and where they’ve yet to go. Hopefully I’ll be in such a good condition after so many years of travel!
It was a great way to round-off our weekend and we always feel smug when we find somewhere new to explore and this is definitely somewhere we will be back to!
